These are good filters if you understand the trade-offs between them and other Brita filters. Brita managed to get the water flowing faster, but it's by no means fluffy and doesn't remove as much as their traditional filters. But it probably does such a good job that most people will still be satisfied. First, the flow rate. I would call it a strong trickle. It can't stand being poured out of a regular jug or out of a sink, but that's not bad. I would say it's about the level of a fridge water cooler to give you an idea. It will slow down significantly the closer the pitcher gets to empty, but that doesn't matter since you can fill it up right away. I also noticed that the flow rate varies greatly from filter to filter. Is it important? Probably no. Chlorine is probably responsible for most of the bad taste in municipal water. If that's all you care about, this will probably work (although traditional filters work a little better in my experience). However, if you happen to be in an old building, you may be concerned about other pollutants such as lead or mercury. In this case, this filter will not help you. (What you probably need is a Brita Longlast filter, their only filter that removes lead.) So, are they worth it? Well, if you chronically forget to refill your pitcher until you're thirsty (or if you have lazy roommates), maybe. If you don't live in a building with old chimneys, you'll still want to come by.
