I have two small dogs 15 and 17 pounds that sometimes like to run out into the street and won't come back when called. I live in the woods and don't really want to put up an electric fence so this was my next best option. It's great that there are 3 separate functions for sound, vibration and shock so I can determine which works best for my dogs. They responded immediately to the collar. I had to use longer terminals due to the extremely thick layer, but it worked like a charm. I will buy a second device for another dog and it is very convenient that the remote control works with multiple collars on different channels.
