Review on πŸ”§ Lisle 12100 O2 Sensor Socket by Anthony Woolley

Don't waste your money on this poor quality product

Don't waste your money on this outlet. I was expecting a replacement socket for the Lisle 12100 O2 sensor that I bought a few years ago. This outlet was well made, worked great, and was made in the USA. So I bought another Lisle 12100 socket. Makes sense right? Well the Lisle 12100 O2 sensor socket I just received is coming back for a refund. This point of sale looks like a design for a school shop, which was created visually and technically by an inexperienced person. The slot on the side is cut unevenly, the wall of the socket is much thicker, which is most likely due to the poor quality of the metal, and the hexagon on top is poorly machined. Measuring flats on a US made head, my caliper readings ranged from .999 to .9985 inches. This is a measurement across all three pairs of wrenches where a 1" socket or wrench is to be installed. That's pretty impressive. When I measured the new Chinese-made socket faces, my readings were between 0.985 and 0.980 inches. This is 0.020" less than the 1" socket or wrench that should fit. This means it is a very sloppy fit which is unacceptable in high torque applications e.g. B. trying to remove a dirty O2 sensor from its fitting. So I'm sending the socket back for a refund and have to look around for a genuine 02 sensor socket. Shame on Lisle for replacing a once well made American socket with some Chinese made junk. That makes all Lisle products suspicious to me. I also suggest that Revain publish the country of origin of all products sold so that we can sort out inferior products immediately.
