Put your foot in the right place

When I first started OCR I wore compression stockings on my calves and they just sucked loudly. I mean they pull down, they cling to things and they just don't function as well as they would like. After much internal deliberation and discussion, I swallowed the price pill and ordered MudGear Socks. HOWEVER - after receiving it I was very satisfied. These socks are well tailored, durable and can (only) justify the price. BUT WAIT, IT'S MORE. I wore these socks to Rugged ManiacPhoenix II on November 5th. The socks were particularly comfortable in the toe area and did not constrict the legs. In fact, I forgot I had them on for most of the race, which I think is the goal. Of course, the compression was fantastic and in all the right places. calf and arch of foot; well thought through. Since I'm (still) a big failure at rope climbing, I haven't tried padding yet (and Rugged doesn't have a ROPE!). On November 12th I'm doing Muckfest and on November 19th I'm doing Rugged Maniac Socal. The big test will be Spartan So Cal in late January 2017. But I have no doubt that my foot is in the right place.
