I bought my first 32 oz. knowing that there is something of a learning curve. Unfortunately it's taking a little longer than I thought it would and have used up most of my product. I went to the website and watched so many videos online that I can't remember the number. Nowhere, I mean nowhere, is there talk of heating up your form, not even in authorized videos where an Alumilite rep is featured in the video. One video in particular comes to mind with a pen where the aluminite guy stood right there - without preheating. But if you read the directions, it clearly states that the molds need to be preheated to around 125F. I didn't do it, instead I listened to all these people on video and it cost me a few drinks. Now let's move on to the bubbles. Oh bubbles. Just admit to yourself that you need a high pressure pan to use this. If you don't want to mix so slowly, you'll fall asleep and only pour about 1/4 inch at a time. In a video I watched, it took a guy three days to fill a pen mold. I do not have much time. Also if you're thinking of including something in this product (great use) if there's even the slightest chance it might contain moisture e.g. from wood or any hygroscopic material, it will blister if not left in the pressure pot until fully cured and solidified. I used a kiln on my wood and it had 3% moisture when I took it out of the kiln. The residual moisture from the alumite was still bubbling when I used it in the pot, but I was able to save the pot. Be aware that this material does not like moisture and will blister like you have never seen before. It is also a beautifully transparent product.
