I often use self tapping anchors and find them indispensable. These are not good anchors as they do not take screws well. You can see these anchors on the left in the photos, they are strong and do not have a specially designed "kink" to facilitate screw insertion. In addition, the anchor head has a significantly reduced surface area. The plastic is pretty hard and will break. Also, I bought this batch because they said they were made in the USA (which I found to be the best quality overall). Firstly, the anchors and box say they are made in the USA, so I'm not sure if that's true. Bolts are imported. I sent them back and got my money back so everything is fine. That might be fine, but I would suggest doing a visual comparison and you'll see why.
