Got rid of Nikki Carb!

I started out with a Nikki carburetor on my 21hp B&S mower. Like all Nikki carbs, mine started giving me problems. I've built/rebuilt dozens of carbs so I took on this one. I reinstalled it 3 times, each time I got different problems. On the last rebuild it worked great, I reamed the main jet to run a bit richer, now it has more power, performance has dropped a lot and among other things it seemed to run at a lower cost on previous rebuilds. After the 3rd repair I went inside and excitedly talked about how great it was working, when I started it up the next day it wasn't even idling let alone doing anything useful. Bad carb so I ordered another carb (it was Nikki) thinking it would solve my problems for sure. No! Throughout all of this, I researched Nikki carbs online and found that they caused ALL the problems. There's actually a YT video called How to Make Your Carb Nikki Work Great. In the video, he removes the Nikki carburetor from the engine and immediately throws it in the trash can. Great action! I ended up ordering this carburetor (it's made by Ruixing and has a completely different design) and bolted it on (direct replacement). The mower now runs great from idle to top speed, is quieter, has more power and better throttle. Response when hitting a patch of heavy grass. WOW! It's like having a new mower. Don't do like me and don't waste a lot of money and time, just screw on the carburetor and you're done.
