This cable is very well made and quite thick. It's actually a bit thicker than the cable that came with my heavy duty U-lock. One piece of advice I'll give if you're looking to invest in one of these: make sure you have enough length for your needs. I bought a 4 foot cable. One because it was enough to lock my bike in most places I go. However, there was a shop I wanted to go to and there wasn't anything nearby to bolt the bike to except for a telephone pole that had a bunch of "pipes" and utility boxes attached to it. Impossible with 4ft, but 7ft would do. I could have just blocked the bike, but I didn't feel safe. I ended up walking the whole block to tie it to a street sign. I will probably buy another one in the future, this time longer. You will not be disappointed with them.
