Bought for warm weather hiking, rocky terrain in Sedona Az area. Thickness is almost correct. Our feet fit well, my shoes are a size 9 and my wife is a size 8 and 1/2. After looking at hiking spots and learning not to use cotton for hiking, we found these socks at a reasonable price. Much cheaper than $20 for a better pair of socks. We are beginner hikers and only plan short hikes. I'll post the performance results after we get back from Sedona.
