Ideal replacement for a broken cable. I used this to replace the derailleur cable on my Trek bike. It would be long enough to move backwards if necessary. The end was welded in such a way that the cable could easily be routed through the existing pipe. There was a small grommet in the packaging that I smashed on the end of the cord as it was being cut to keep it from fraying. It took me about 10 minutes to get my bike running again. Will definitely buy these in the future as other cables wear out.
