We are old. We had a puppy. We are amazed that we made it through a full week of the puppy constantly opening the potty door outside and then inside. Outside. Inside. Outside. Inside. Outside. (You understand) Sometimes we just left the door wide open and let the flies in. So we bought a dog door and after seeing the rave reviews for this product combined with a very reasonable price we ordered it. The best purchase we've made in a long time. As we assume that the installation would take almost a day, we are happy to report that it took about half an hour. We make sure that we have a solid core door. We don't take doors off their hinges because they're heavy and we're old. So the husband installed the dog door with the door facing up and there was no problem. The assembly instructions are enclosed with the door. The husband used a saber saw with a good starting hole. Took a few times as the puppy ran away from the door; barking at the door; Paw on the door before she was brave enough to go through the door. Our life has become much easier.
