I know this is for a roof rack but I ended up using it in a caravan and it works GREAT. (almost too well, as I'll explain in a moment). My trailer has a beautiful Baltic Birch retractable galley/kitchen area and when folded down the space is perfect to store a few boxes. But I don't want them to slip or scratch the birch. I used and cut this material. It is VERY easy to cut (easily cut straight) due to the checkerboard pattern. It provides just the right cushioning and also completely prevents the boxes from slipping. It's actually a bit of a problem now because I have to get into the trailer to place the boxes and it was easier when I could push them into place. Now I have to place them accurately because this stuff is only applied after the box is delivered (which is really good). in my trailer!
