Bought this a few months ago to try and overall I'm very happy with it. new to dehydration and who only made beef jerky and dried fruit. So I can't promise it's just as good for herbs or anything else. ProsCost is pretty cheap. Cleaning by hand is tedious) The book provided is a great basis for determining dehydration times/temperatures depending on whether you are making jerky, herbs, fruit etc. The controls are simple. Cons: The base is not easy to clean. despite manufacturer information. It gets dirty and gets dirty quickly because it drips. And that's the only reason I'm taking off a star because it specifically says it's easy to remove when it's not. They will drip onto the base and it will get dirty if you don't have carpets. for that (not sure if they're even available to fit that easily) Overall, if you're new to dehydration and want to try jerky or fruit and don't want the huge upfront cost to see if it's right for you, I've had said try it. I don't feel like this will last for years and I'll probably have to get a replacement at some point, but so far I've gotten great bang for my buck.
