Review on πŸ”§ AQUARIA Eclipse 3 Motorized Part by Rosa Hughes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great motor replacement for my aging Eclipse tank

Had to rush to order this to replace my motor which failed after cycling it on and off a number of times. It took less than five minutes from the mailbox to the tank. If you already have an Eclipse tank and the label on the back of the tank cover says Eclipse PFE3 then this is the motor to go for. If your pump doesn't even turn on, the motor is most likely to blame. You can keep this engine and use your existing diffuser and intake valve. It's hard to know if you've never done this before, but all you have to do is grab the black plastic tube that protrudes from the bottom of the pump and pull it out of the housing. The diffuser is a black piece of plastic that fits into the case. It's hard to see what it looks like until you pull it out. So check out the picture I've added or check out Revain for Marineland (Aquaria) AMLPR3083 Intake Flow Diffuser Eclipse. This part just slides out along with the intake valve inside. Simply slide these two parts into the new motor housing and you're done. There were threads of fern on my intake valve so I removed them before assembling the new pump. If your pump is noisy but not sucking water, it may not be the motor and the pump may be clogged with plants or other objects. Debris. In this case, you can pull out the diffuser and inlet valve, as well as the parts that protrude into the water, and make sure nothing is clogged with dirt from the tank.
