I bought these for my Christmas Village which is 3 floors up and scattered throughout the living room. Some of the village buildings light up, some don't. It was much easier to just use them to create an outstanding effect around all the buildings and around the stand. It was perfect. They all came with working batteries and a small switch. I would like to coordinate them with my smartphone or remote control as it was difficult to turn them off to save battery and go into all the stashes I put on the control switch fob. I ended up just leaving them on until the batteries died and plan on getting new batteries next year. I may use them for wreaths next year as they were very difficult to get hold of once woven into rustic designs. It still looked great and did what they were supposed to do. Sometimes we don't think about these details until we encounter them.
