Review on 🎧 Beyerdynamic DT 990 Premium Open-Back Over-Ear Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones: Uncompromised Sound Quality for Audiophiles by Ha Joon ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

It makes no sense to me why the tweeter would be turned up to that level and the lower center would be ignored; how can you even call such headphones monitor headphones? Although the volume is low when used in conjunction with the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB 2.0, you should still be able to work. Nonetheless, this does not count against the headphones. If I were to mix using only them, rather than monitors, I would fail miserably. By the way, I made the decision to simulate the sound of headphones on my monitors. I was able to accomplish this by adjusting the equalization control (EQ) on the master and turning it up by 12 decibels (!) after 1 kilohertz. After that, the lower middle began to take on a more natural sound. I made the decision to test the headphones using the Realtek sound card that is often found on motherboards. The sound is identical to the one coming from my professor's computer, and the volume is set to the same level. To those who believe that all audiophiles are prepared to sprint for an amplifier, this is a note:

Pros
  • Made in Germany, the headphones have a satisfying quality both in terms of the materials they are composed of and the headphones themselves; there is nothing about which to complain. I'm fine with bottom and normal. At the very least, you are able to determine whether or not the barrel has a bottom, and in this range, I do not require any further information from the ears. Very high levels of audible clarity.
Cons
  • After giving them some time to warm up, in conjunction with the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB 2.0, I am able to say that I am unsure whether or not I would purchase them again. My sensitive hearing was immediately assaulted by the highs and upper midranges of the sound. The lower middle is lacking, most likely as a result of the treble being raised to such a high pitch. As a consequence of this, it will not be possible to experience the warmth of the sound. There is no way for you to wear headphones around your neck! Because of the pressure they apply, you won't be able to remain in this posture with the headphones on for more than one to five minutes. P. S. The sound improved once it had been warmed up for a longer period of time. The high frequencies are not as sharp, but everything else has remained the same. Because of this, the question of whether or not these ears are being "monitored" is still up in the air.
