Bought an EGV811 EGR valve from Standard Motor Products to replace the stock valve on my 2000 ML320. The check engine light stayed on and code P0400 appeared, indicating an issue with the airflow through the valve. The new valve was of high quality (like the more expensive one advertised) and came with a new seal. The fit was perfect and after driving 25 miles the check engine light went out and stayed on. The problem was in the valve, there could be other problems but I decided the 15 year old valve had failed. Note: The hose connected to the EGR valve was not clogged.
