I have hearing impairments and have tried using louder speakers and headphones but to no avail. Then I got the idea of getting a Roku TV, a Roku acoustic bar, and subwoofers. They worked well, but again I had hearing problems. So I decided to place the center speaker along with the subwoofers behind me on the wall about 12 inches apart. To do this, I needed an HDMI cable connecting the TV and the speaker bar. So I bought a 50ft HDMI cable. Unfortunately nobody said that an HDMI cable over 26ft needed an amplifier so I was a little surprised when I plugged everything in and couldn't get a stabilized picture. That's when I found out I needed shorter cords, maybe 2 26ft (that's 44ft from the TV along the baseboard to the wall behind me. This amp. And it really works! Have been using it for half a year with no problems. Like you though read in other reviews it is a unidirectional amplifier and the markings on the small module are wrong, if you don't get the results you want the first time, just twist it in the opposite direction and everything will work fine.
