My steak knives match my cutlery set so I don't have to use a steak knife attachment. I have paring knives and cheese knives that go really well there. I was hesitant to purchase because I didn't know if the width of the Cutco handles would fit the steak knife slots. Turns out the width of the Cutco grips is okay; The length of the pen is slightly longer than the space in the holder. However, I am very pleased that my knives are more organized than they were. I don't think the Cutco grip sticks out any further than it should, no problem at all. I also have a knife sharpener on the knife holder. I used to look for it in my desk drawer. This knife holder allowed me to label the knives in each slot. I love it. I can definitely recommend the knife holder. The drawer is much clearer and since the knives are labeled, choosing the right knife is easier.
