I'm disappointed that the base and armrests are molded plastic rather than metal - we bought another chair that was cheaper for my daughter was, and the parts are metal. When I discovered this I went back to the description and looked closely at the pictures and you can tell they are plastic but I think for the price they should be metal. I wish it was in the description and I'm adding it to this review so others know if it's important to them too. To their credit, the molded plastic isn't flimsy, but plastic is plastic — it's prone to scratches and cracks. This chair came together pretty smoothly and two people made sure they didn't tighten the screws before most of the parts were assembled. The chair was a gift and the recipient said it was relatively comfortable, but sometimes he needs to place a pillow where his lower back touches the chair to better fit his back (5ft 10in, 130lbs). The chair is ok but I would never pay $125 for it if I saw it in person, just under $100 (the price I paid for another chair with metal parts) and I would think it's worth its price is worth.
