Review on πŸš— CB Radio Mounting Bracket for Jeep Wrangler JK (07-18) by Rugged Ridge 11503.95 by Jim Reinhardt

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I like this mount as it sets my CB up and .

I like this mount because it elevates my CB and gets it out of the way, but is still reachable. However, there are a few things that could make this mount better and more reliable. If you are using a larger CB (like me the Cobra 29XL) you will find that this mount is not strong enough to hold your CB 100% securely. If the metal used for this bracket was a bit thicker or stronger it would be much better. I ended up putting some thick strips of foam between my CB and the top of the windshield frame at the back of the mount and between my CB and the bottom of the mount at the front to keep my CB from rocking up and down over bumps. It's pretty safe overall, but it should have been out of the box. Implementing it on a 2007-2010 JK (I have a 2008) requires drilling the rivets that hold the center hinge in place. It's not bad, but the Rugged Ridge could offer a better solution than the included nuts and bolts. I quickly loosened the bolts and tried to tighten them enough to hold the pedal strap and CB bracket securely in place with the included nuts. I ended up taking some M5x20 hex screws and using a hex wrench to tighten them to my 1/4" ratchet. Much tighter than a Phillips head screwdriver. Even better would be a pair of nut inserts. I've read that other people use nut inserts instead of the nuts provided For people with a 2011 JK or newer, properly tightening the bolts that hold the hinge in place may not be an issue.
