Plugs into an outlet and into a fancy electronic washing machine. The old washing machine failed after only 13 years, which may or may not have been caused by years of power surges. It has a green light to indicate it's connected properly and a green light to indicate it's working. Really looks high tech. I've ordered two more for my dehumidifier, the last one broke due to an electronics problem, and my old fridge. I didn't buy this for my new fridge because it stands behind the fridge, pushing it away from the wall and ruining the aesthetics of the kitchen. If the washing machine is still running when I'm gone, my loved ones may conclude that I wasted my money. I ordered Tripp Lite because it was the only company whose Revain reviews indicated it actually worked during the climb and was the only company that ever paid for a supposed insurance policy.
