Install correctly with no problems.

There is a MUST mount, it has a HARD TO START self tapping screw. Install the screw BEFORE attaching it to the wall to avoid damaging the anchor. Final tightening after installation. They are designed for semi-permanent installation.

Dangerous! in socket strips and overvoltage protection

Direct connection is absolutely DANGEROUS. As others have written, the connector pulls out of the metal exposing the wires. The fork is made of plastic, in a metal housing. and the tabs are weak and won't hold. Tripp makes very good products, but not in this case! Honestly, this shouldn't be forgotten.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Very expensive

DANGEROUS! in Accessories and Supplies

Like some of the other reviewers here, I had the same issue with my Tripp Lite surge protector. When detaching the device from the wall, the plastic backing broke. The bare wires were grounded resulting in him releasing a huge spark right in my face. Better to be on the safe side and not buy this surge protector.

Rubbish, can only be plugged in once

I plugged it in and then unplugged it. The rear part was torn off when disconnected, and the wires got out! There was a small piece of plastic holding the connector to the metal of the case and I didn't even have to pull hard to unplug the connector. It took so little effort to break it that I'm wondering if it's already broken.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Not the best

Only one problem best in accessories and consumables

I was very satisfied with its appearance and its specifications. And it seemed pretty solid when I got it. But (usually) the first power off was enough pressure to loosen the backplate holding the pins/cables and let the "hot" wire touch the outer case, causing a big spark. My arm is black with discharge and the outlet is dead. I was lucky not to be shocked.

Pros
  • hands-free operation
Cons
  • security

Roasted at 18 Months

I used this for my washer and dryer because I live in Arizona where rainy season thunderstorms can cause surges that damage modern electronics. This seemed like the perfect solution for that. I went to do laundry this weekend and the dryer wouldn't turn on. I examined the device and found that it had moved slightly away from the wall. When I tried to push it back against the wall there was a pop and a flash and that was it. Luckily the circuit breaker worked but now I have to buy a replacement.

Looks great good for power strips and surge protectors

Plugs into an outlet and into a fancy electronic washing machine. The old washing machine failed after only 13 years, which may or may not have been caused by years of power surges. It has a green light to indicate it's connected properly and a green light to indicate it's working. Really looks high tech. I've ordered two more for my dehumidifier, the last one broke due to an electronics problem, and my old fridge. I didn't buy this for my new fridge because it stands behind the fridge, pushing

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not safe

Direct Connect is Dangerous

Tripp Lite Direct Connect surge protector has a bug. The connector is attached to a metal box with plastic. It is easy to separate from the metal box. I had one that was loose enough to short out, sparks and smoke and all. I am including photos of a shorted surge protector, what the early stages of plug loosening look like, and the burn marks on my wall from a short. I am also replacing all of my straight connectors with an Isobar 2 surge protector strip with a 6ft cable. Tripp Lite Isobar 2โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lifetime Warranty: The desktop power cord has a lifetime limited warranty
Cons
  • So far so good

KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING AND HOW AND IF IT WORKS FOR WHAT YOU NEED!

Firstly, I'm NOT an electrical engineer so "I think I know" comes from reading many Google articles (not reviews) about surge arresters and how they work differently. What matters to you might be different than what I think about it, but here's what makes sense to me. 1. Anything with a hard drive (game consoles, computers without their own battery, Desktop hard drives) plus game console TVs and anything else you need or want to use when the lights go out: should have a battery backup withโ€ฆ

Great price for a quality device.

The Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Straight Plug Outlet Air Conditioner/Surge Protector is an excellent safety device for protecting sensitive electronic equipment from power surges and surges, but it is not. are designed to protect against lightning strikes, power failures (power interruption/shutdown) or small voltage fluctuations typical of the network. It would be nice if these devices would block all current when a power surge occurs. But that would also be a great inconvenience because in one dayโ€ฆ
