Tripp Lite Direct Connect surge protector has a bug. The connector is attached to a metal box with plastic. It is easy to separate from the metal box. I had one that was loose enough to short out, sparks and smoke and all. I am including photos of a shorted surge protector, what the early stages of plug loosening look like, and the burn marks on my wall from a short. I am also replacing all of my straight connectors with an Isobar 2 surge protector strip with a 6ft cable. The socket was not damaged either. The company was very responsive when I called and they were willing to support the insurance and replace all my gear if it was damaged. They also replace any straight connectors with loose connectors.
