I think my mother who is visually impaired but still cooks will do it. I bought it to give her for Christmas. The item was shipped quickly and arrived safely. The reason for the 2 star rating is this. I opened the thermometer by cutting the quality control sticker on the box. I don't know how good the quality control process was? When I tested it I measured the pace and the voice never stopped saying the results and the screen went blank. So I started replacing the battery. Fortunately, a second battery was included. This solved the problem of its damping. But now we don't have an extra battery. I then compared the readings to my own thermometer, which is calibrated. The new one was off by a degree. Of course in the guide they tell you how to calibrate and the process was easy enough to get it done. But the big problem comes back to QC. Remember that sticker I told you about. I had 2 problems with the new thermometer. How good is the quality control process? This worries me about the durability of the product. I'm glad I checked before giving it to her. As I said, she has poor eyesight and would not be able to do this work on her own. I am disappointed to say the least.
