I am blind and love this thermometer. One push of a button and it immediately tells me the temperature. I especially like it when I'm reheating food or cooking something from the freezer. I no longer have to wonder if it's getting hot or ask someone to take the temperature for me.

I use these thermometers for everything from checking the oil temperature in a deep fryer to checking the doneness of grilled food. I am visually impaired and the hearing capability of these thermometers makes them extremely useful. They announce the temperature of what you are examining very clearly and loudly.

It's hard to find high-quality, instant-read thermometers that "speak". Arrived neatly packaged with spare battery and information card. The solid construction and the "talking" function really work. To be honest I'm surprised by the purity of the voice. I'm teaching a severely visually impaired person how to cook fresh seafood, meat and poultry and the talk feature has changed everything. A quality product for sure.

I cook a lot of meat in my smoker. I've used thermopes and other instant-read thermometers, but none are as unique as this one. ie: the function of reading aloud. All I can tell you is that reading the tempos out loud to myself works GREAT. This is a must have tool for me and I am grateful for the price, it works very well and is perfect for my needs! PROS: price, fast reading, reading aloud. AGAINST: Nothing noticed.
