We bought this for our 35lb 2 year old who is learning to swim. So far we've used a floating arm for puddle jumping and preferred it to puddle jumping because it can actually use its arms in a proper swimming motion. We bought a size up to meet the weight recommendations and while it's not snug, it's a secure fit and has plenty of room to grow. The leg strap also prevents it from getting in his face. I would absolutely recommend this. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is to keep your baby afloat and tilt them forward on their tummy so they learn to use their hands and are in the correct swimming position, rather than just up and down like a puddle to hop.
