I really wanted to like this lighter and in a way I still do. It's heavy, well built and feels good in the hand. Reliable hits, fills up easily, doesn't evaporate as badly as some but probably still a little quicker than most. The problem is that it doesn't light the pipes very well. Once lit, the flame is large enough to burn evenly, but once you hold it over a bowl, the aspiration of the air needed to draw the flame to the leaf will cause the flame to almost die out expires. I've had success by tipping both the pipe and lighter at an awkward angle and almost coaxing the flame around the rim of the pipe, so it's good that I'm trying not to light any of my stuff. I think the lighter just isn't wide enough and the hole can't be big enough to work properly. But with a little practice it can be made to work.
