When I first received the device in May I really liked it. As a measurement technician, the first thing I checked was the calibration of the device; it was very accurate. I liked the timer option and other features. However, after being used less than a dozen times, the probe failed. I can bend the flexible sheath right at the end of the probe and get it to work sometimes, but it's a little tricky when it's a grilled steak. If the sensor were more reliable this would be a great product at a very reasonable price. However, without the probe, it's a bright orange paperweight. UPDATE: I've raised my rating from a 2 to a 4 due to the quick response from the company. They're sending in a new probe and have made sensible suggestions to protect it. I also learned that the probe has a lifetime warranty. Once I have the probe and assume it works for a few uses I'll probably update again.
