My John Deere rake came with a straight hitch pin which was good enough for the job. To do this I had to lay down on the floor to see the small hole to insert the locking pin. Not very practical when the ground is wet or you have to lie in the mud. With the curved handle and longer pin, all I have to do is lean over to see the small hole to insert the locking pin.
