This product is great for broken toes or broken feet. This is a great transitional product from a cast or boot, although I immediately ordered shoes. I've had numerous "adventures" with foot surgeries, falls, etc. and broken my 5th metatarsal bone. I know the difficulties of carrying a heavy orthopedic boot for both the caregiver and the patient; They are uncomfortable to put on and take off, they are VERY heavy and it hurts to put your foot back in the boot. This shoe was MUCH better when it arrived! I can't tell you she was like that. supported because it is not. It lacks steel bars on the sides of the ankle. So if you need to prevent foot rotation (e.g. with a sprain or broken metatarsal), this may not work early on. But it was like a breath of fresh air for my broken foot. It slides right on to get out of bed in 2 seconds and doesn't hurt to put on. Velcro keeps it in place and it wears well; I was there for 2 weeks. Fractures hurt like hell, anyone who has had one knows that. Time and stability help with pain management. This shoe is great for the price; The size was right and it's not hot and heavy. Best of all, it doesn't kill my back due to the swinging motion where one hip is significantly higher than the other. I wish I had one of these with one of the other fractures I've experienced; great shoes!
