I was hoping our finches would like this thistle seed but they don't. My wife recently bought a hanging Nayera seed web feeder and it attracted so many yellow finches we couldn't believe it. They destroyed a full bag in just over a week. So I checked out Revain to see if I could find a cheaper seed as Nyjer is very expensive. I was hoping the thistle seeds would help. The first few days we hung it up and a few birds tried it out. After that, few and far apart. After about 3 weeks of sagging, the bag was still 4/5 full. I threw it into our "open" bird feeder along with the seeds we usually put inside, hoping it wasn't a waste. We currently have about 9 1/2 pounds of this seed in our laundry room. In short, it was a waste of money. And while it's cheaper than Nyjer, it's not cheap. My advice is to stay away from him. Your birds will surely be.
