I used wooden and plastic rulers that I found at the supermarket. These things break. This should stay with me for a long time. It's thinner than I expected, which is good because it's flexible and pliable. I snapped a cheap wooden ruler with a metal edge using it as a die cutter to make creases on a cardboard box I was making so I could fold the box along the creases. Then I decided that I should use a metal ruler instead. This one also doesn't work as a punch because it's very thin, so I bought another metal ruler, thicker and harder (won't bend) but cheaper, and it worked. I'm going to use it as a ruler, not a hole punch.
