I had an Audi valve cover that I had to remove because I foolishly applied too much torque to the 8mm bolt holding one of the coil packs and it broke. (I tried to drill it down but ended up just taking a used $50 cap and attributing it to my experience). No sealant was used from the factory, so I figured I could do without it. NOT CORRECT. So, second time around and fingers crossed I gave it a try. I was very careful to wait the 72 hours they recommended for a full cure. I don't know if I was being overly cautious, but the temp was in the 30's-40's so I figured it would slow drying so it's best to be safe. So far, 4 months later, everything is fine.
