I have not strapped it into the cargo area but I had no problem fitting my 2018's freedom panels in. Just pay attention to the shape of the bag and it's very easy to figure out which way they go in. Now I'm not be worried about them getting scratched or banged up. The zipper does not seem the most durable and I do agree that the zipper shoild stay on top instead of flipping it over to use a handle but it's not a big deal if you're not going to be constantly moving around. The way they did that just goes against common sense.
