I bought this unit from Bon-Ton over 3 years ago at a great price - less than $10. This device works as described. The 1-4 cup function is great when you don't need a lot of coffee and there is no coffee left in the jug after you've poured your cups. The heating pad switches itself off - a safety feature. Autobrew works great. Set up the coffee machine the evening before and fresh coffee is ready before you get up - yum. As with many household appliances, you cannot use the device to its full extent without reading the instructions. Most of the complaints here come from people who don't understand the features or haven't read the instructions. Your loss is because this is a great coffee maker.
