I found the gopro to sit too high with the rounded part of the included J hook and next to my cheek. The change in orientation and the presence of the letter J at the bottom allowed the camera to sit comfortably at chest level, leaving my hands free. It's very easy to use and a lot less obtrusive than some of my other mounts/straps. This allows the gopro to somehow slot into your gear bag and people won't give you weird looks like they're looking at a camera or a head in a cage. As others have mentioned, this causes the frames to be slightly skewed, but I'm not overly concerned about that. I look forward to using this for hiking and hiking timelapses!
