I am currently using this outside my house in a drain pipe that leads to a drain pipe that had problems with ice dams last winter. The band is very strong, significantly thicker than other competitors. It's definitely a good idea to fully route the cable as it's stiff and can be difficult to install/deploy on a cold day. I've only ridden it once so far, but definitely saw it create a small gully in the snow near my gutter. I wish it had a little more time but that's probably due to my outlet placement and not all that is a product defect. I've also used this in combination with their downspout protector. Hope this fixes any issues in the future.
