Worth every penny! for heavy plumbing

We're in our 4th snowstorm of the season and the thermal band is working as it should. Exactly 1 year ago we had water damage in a bathroom and bedroom due to ice dams. This heating tape isn't cheap, but it's a lot cheaper than a complete bathroom remodel after gutting it down to the studs and replacing it with drywall, carpet, paneling and paint in the next bedroom like I did last year.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Good quality heating cable

This heating cable is of much better quality than other brands I have used. It costs more but seems like it's worth the extra money. I have a gutter and gutter on the floor of the second floor roof terrace which is above my dining room. In a year, without my knowledge, a cheaper product failed and the drain froze. We had a heavy downpour on Christmas Eve and the rain, with nowhere to drain, ran onto the patio and seeped into the living room below. This cable was in stock all winter.

  • Handy item
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Probably the best heating tape you can buy!

Our Minnesota winter this year has been bad with ICE DAMS on the roofs. I had 18 inches of ice in both the southern and northern roof valleys. Got a new heater tape and using my wood saw (no blade) and pulling out the tape attached to it and laid it in the valley south. side of my roof. After an hour, the ribbon melted through the ice and you could no longer see the ribbon above the ice. I'll put her duct tape on all the valleys and gullies by next winter. Thanks for this great product, tried…

Sturdy as long as it works well

I am currently using this outside my house in a drain pipe that leads to a drain pipe that had problems with ice dams last winter. The band is very strong, significantly thicker than other competitors. It's definitely a good idea to fully route the cable as it's stiff and can be difficult to install/deploy on a cold day. I've only ridden it once so far, but definitely saw it create a small gully in the snow near my gutter. I wish it had a little more time but that's probably due to my outlet…

Excellent quality tubular heating cable

I was pleased to see that this heating cable is unlike any other cable I have seen. This one is very heavy and solidly made. The plug will light up when you plug it in so you know it's working. So many others caution you against making sure it doesn't touch any other part of the cable. This cable says everything is fine. I routed the cable through the tube and secured it to make sure it didn't freeze. If it's in the pipe where you can't see it, you can't tell if the wires are touching, so that…

Fantastic product for pipe, fittings and accessories

I live here in the Great White North (Quebec, Canada) I have used heating tape for many years. I have never been satisfied with the quality of the product available in hardware stores (tried all) and was always afraid that the product would break in the middle of winter. Because of this, I would run new cables every two years. I stumbled across Radiant Solutions and thought it was worth a try so ordered a couple for the front of my house. After the product arrived and was installed I was so…

Works very well on pipes, fittings and accessories

To be honest I was quite skeptical about using roof deicing cords. I had my doubts that they would actually work. So far I'm very impressed. We've had a terrible snowstorm here in the Northeast and these cables are doing a great job of keeping the gutters ice free so they can drain properly. These cables aren't the cheapest on the market, but they do have some unique features. The biggest thing I love is that you can layer them on top of each other. I wanted to do this with the end loops in the

Incredible product A+++ I love these heated roof cables!

I received a 62ft cable. I noticed that water was dripping into my house from underground above. It bled through the window frame so luckily I have minimal cast when it comes out and dries. The day after I saw the drop I ordered this product. The benefit for me was that the cable itself is strong enough and secure enough. that it can be blocked and will not short circuit or ignite. It was very, very cold in Minnesota this winter, the roof was hard and covered with ice, so I couldn't install it…
