Well built, sturdy. Directions have changed but just follow your application. It jumps due to different types of attachment. Generally easy to assemble. You spend an hour. My personal application was a wall mount above my 10ft garage door in my shed. So I just cut a 2 x 12 x 14" block and installed it with (glue and 4.6" latch bolts) into the lintel frame above the top door. I trimmed the block with a vinyl J channel and then varnished the machined block 2x12. Black . I pre-drilled 4 holes in my block which are also needed to attach the adjustable bracket. And when it came time to hang the basketball hoop, I slung it over my shoulder, carried it up the stairs, and screwed it into the pre-drilled holes using the 3-inch tabs that were provided. So yes, you can easily do it yourself. If you're not handy, get help. Generally a good product for your money.
