Excellent camera even with a number

I have been using this camera for a month. I'm fairly new to my experience and use of security cameras. I started with a pair of $20 outdoor cameras. Incidents were recorded at night by these cameras. When the footage was played back for law enforcement, it was too dark and grainy to use, prompting me to replace the cameras with better night and day vision cameras. The battery cameras were ideal because I could place them in an inconspicuous spot. To me, this camera has excellent clarity both day and night. Details in video streams are clear even at 75 to 100 feet at night. The wide viewing angle was also a plus where this camera was placed, with great sound quality. In the pouring rain, this camera stayed connected to the Wi-Fi signal and maintained a clear image even at night in the rain. For my security camera needs there are two important options in a security camera which I don't think about when buying cameras as my inexperience suggests that all security cameras have these options. I had to watch continuous live video, which this camera does very well. The other option I needed was a desktop version of the camera app so I could view multiple cameras on an external monitor connected to my computer. The Android app for this camera is not convenient for me when using my phone. The CloudEdge app for this camera does not have a desktop version. So I did some research and learned a bit about RTSP/Onvif in the firmware of many different cameras. From what I've read I understand that battery powered cameras don't have RTSP/Onvif which allows the camera to stream through 3rd party applications. Luckily, there's an app that works great on my Windows desktop. BlueStacks is an Android emulator that is very handy for setting up and installing multiple instances of the CloudEdge app to display on my external monitor. The only problem I have with this camera is the battery life. I am aware that streaming with HD enabled over a continuous live stream and with alarm settings set to high sensitivity will drain your battery faster over time, not giving you a battery life that can last weeks or months with lower settings. This camera only lasted a few days on HD settings and high sensitivity before I had to recharge it. I charged the battery for several hours and made sure it was fully charged before heading back outside. This time the battery lasted less than 12 hours. Climb up the ladder to pick it up again. This time I decided to do something different with her so I wouldn't have to climb the stairs again for a while. I moved the camera close to the outlet so it would run 24/7. I had to tape the connection to the camera to prevent the weather from affecting the SD card and I ordered a 10ft charging cable for it. It works great and I'm not worried about battery issues. I'm pretty sure the camera isn't designed for this kind of use. I know this version of how I use this camera is not for everyone but it works for me as battery issue aside it is a great camera as an added security measure to protect my place of residence. Even with the battery problem I give it 5 stars. I was asked if I tried using the solar panel to keep the battery charged. No, I've never tried it. The main reason I'm not interested in using solar panels with the battery powered cameras I use is because there are a lot of pedestrians in the area where I live. Some of the hikers are lost souls struggling with homelessness and addiction. If I put myself in their shoes, my desperation might see those cameras with their solar panels and decide it's worth the risk to steal them. To me, a solar panel would be an added attraction for those willing to take the risk.
