Review on πŸ”’ Rugged Ridge 13260.13 C3 Cargo Cover for 2018 and newer Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JLU (4-Door) - Improved SEO by John Jones

A dirty dog carrier seems to be the best cover.

The insert has been fitted for about 9 months. I bought this to remove the hair of three large dogs from the carpet. I bought for about $180 and I'd say it's probably worth half the price. I keep my rear seats folded and always carry 2 100 lb dogs and 1 80 lb dog. Wherever the Velcro is left open, it will inevitably get covered in dog hair. Not as much. I ended up making holes in the tops of the lid and used zip ties to hold up the sides. Otherwise they kept falling out from under the railing because they were stowed there and not very safe. I've also found that there are problems if you don't have the alignment right next to the tailgate latch. My tailgate kept catching on the liner and twisting it. This eventually resulted in him continuing to hit the rubber stopper on the tailgate, breaking part of the rubber tab that secures it. I ended up shortening the liner so that it no longer goes around the latch. Velcro is not suitable for large dogs. If you lean against it, it falls apart. I've found that the bungee cord on the headrest pillars helps keep them in check in the back of the car. Without it, they would have just ripped open the velcro near that spot and come forward. The muddy dog carrier seems like the best coverage for what I need - more stability and less velcro. I found I wasn't using any of the stable spine "functions" like folding down one of the 60/40 seats or accessing the passenger doors. The Rugged Ridge needs to take some notes from the Dirty Dog 4x4 and use some sort of quick release to keep the liner secure all around the car.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model
