We have an 11 year old rescue terrier mix. He ALWAYS barked at almost everything. TV, wind, falling leaves, people walking outside, etc. This is very annoying/embarrassing and is usually accompanied by jumping and scratching (ie ripping apart!) our plantation shutters and windows. We can't take him anywhere and usually have to pick him up when we have visitors. We recently welcomed our second child and the dog's occasional barking spells continue to scare and wake her up. Basically we're done with that. It's a small dog, so I wasn't interested in actually shocking him, and I don't have time to play around with a training remote. I like that this collar is automatic. I put it on, selected the "Beep / Vibro" mode and the collar works automatically. It beeps/vibrates gradually to correct it without my intervention. On the first day he seemed a bit annoyed. However, on the second/third day I saw a big difference. As soon as he hears a beep when I turn it on, he lies down. He's become much more relaxed and usually doesn't take more than a low level fix to stop barking! My only recommendation for improvement would be a battery. I'm not a fan of constantly changing batteries.
