Reliable mid-range bags at introductory price

This should be the best value for money. I had to replace mine recently and immediately settled on the same model. What I like: All zippers are closed. It's a small detail, but it helps keep dirt out of zippers and water in pockets. The zippers are good. I've never had jams, slip jams or zippers and have definitely taxed them by overloading them with fairly heavy items like canned goods. The zips have double sliders on the main compartments, another nice touch. The line is good - does not go beyond the edges of the fabric, the seams do not fall apart. and the main seams are doubled, with an additional bartack and bartacks at tension points. I like the trunk bag. This adds more capacity than I expected. I like the stiffening insert installed and sewn into the bag instead of struggling and jiggling with the plastic wrap in bags that never seem to fit like some baskets I've seen. All of the plastic clips seem secure and I haven't had one that has come loose or broken yet. There are other nice touches too, like the smooth material on the sides that face the handlebars. Makes cleaning easier and adds some water resistance. I would rate the size of these baskets as average, which is fine for my use, which is mostly errands and commuting. I've certainly done long weekend hikes with baskets smaller than this, so I'm happy with the size - easily holds a week's worth of groceries. What I would change is that there are no deal breakers here. The luggage compartment zipper can be further extended around the bag. It only opens at the end, meaning you can dig for items stored at the other end, away from lightning. Any claims regarding reflectivity are not guaranteed. For example, the ROS logo should be reflective. It's not - it just seems. So what is reflexive? See the tiny white lines on the wide black strap used for the clips? That's all. Those thin white lines are actually reflective. That is not enough. Easy attachment with flexible LightWeights silver tape (Lightweights SilverFlex SuperBright Reflective Tape 100). I would also like to see the mounting points of the taillights. And maybe some loops/clips for extra bungee or attachment points. So why would I replace these bags when they are so cool? Well, combine a day trip with the grandkids, some leftovers in junk food bags that I didn't empty out of my pockets when we got home, and a yet unsuspected (and unexpected) rodent in our garage. Yes, these bags are definitely not rat proof. The next morning I had bags that could only fit a couple of medium sized pillows. Anything else would fall out of the rat holes at the bottom of my pockets. But buy them anyway - great value for money rat proof baskets.
