Review on πŸ–ŒοΈ Review: HUION 2020 Kamvas 13 Graphic Drawing Monitor - Full-Laminated Screen, Battery-Free Stylus, and Tilt Function by Ivan Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm just starting to make art, but.

It was much easier for me to delve into it than when I practiced with paper and pencil. The thicker stylus and the ability to zoom and rotate the screen with just a few keystrokes make it much more convenient than rotating the paper I'm drawing on or just bending over even more than I do to get finer details to add. Speaking of the buttons, they're very clicky and I really like it, even on a stylus. I have a few issues with them, but they're pretty minor and most likely don't matter. Firstly, I've found that when I'm painting at night with no light, I often hit the wrong button on my tablet (obviously not a pen issue) and this can be a little frustrating when I rotate my canvas and accidentally zoom in to scale or vice versa. Second, I found out pretty early on that when I put a key on Win + Shift + S to take a screenshot, my computer thinks the Shift key is held down until I press it on the keyboard, which is pretty quick annoying. , so I just bound another command to it (although I'm pretty sure this can be fixed on the software side, so it might not be applicable if someone plans to buy it). And finally, this has to do with the pen buttons, as I don't know if this applies to a tablet, nor am I sure if it can be fixed, but pressing the button multiple times doesn't trigger the command. like you're holding them down on the keyboard, which makes the bulk Ctrl + Z a bit annoying. Overall, I don't think these issues affect the quality of the product itself. Next comes the screen, which is just amazing. The same resolution as on my computer screen but with colors that look like they should, not washed out like on the computer screen. I also like the feel of drawing on screen because it's a good balance of smoothness and roughness. While I wouldn't say it draws like it does on paper, it's definitely not like what I draw on screen, which makes drawing a lot more enjoyable than any other. Now for the downsides, and by downsides I mean maybe one downside that I'm not sure is even a problem, and I'm just picky: I noticed that after about a week, color stains were visible on my screen. . While I'm pretty sure it's just because the screen was brand new and it's just minor wear and tear that won't be noticeable the more I use it, I just thought I should mention it . It can't even be the screen itself, or it can just be a pen tip and it can be cleaned, I just haven't tried it yet. And finally, there's the cable that comes in the box. I / really / don't like connecting 2 USB and HDMI just to use a tablet. While it's serviceable and most don't have a problem with it, I'm really looking forward to a USB-C cable so I don't have to deal with plugging and unplugging multiple ports when I use my tablet and want to stop using it. Unfortunately, since I use a laptop and don't keep my laptop or tablet next to my bed (where I draw) I can't just leave the tablet on. And while the red USB isn't needed, you'll notice a slight lag with faster pen movement when it's not. So if you plug it in, it will definitely help. However, Huion, if you're reading this, I strongly recommend just putting a USB-C cable in the box next time, and a USB-C to USB and HDMI 3-in-1 adapter for those add who don't have a USB-C port on their computer. Again, most of these issues I've encountered are minor things or issues that aren't serious enough to downgrade this tablet in a review. While I don't really have a good frame of reference, I haven't had any real issues with the tablet, so I see no reason to give it 4 stars instead of 5.
