I ordered a Breville BXB51XL hand blender mainly to make smoothies for breakfast after a tedious time and work disassembling and cleaning the stationary blender after each use. The blender is fast and powerful. Once you learn how to raise and lower the blender in your mixing bowl, you can quickly turn ice cream, fruit, and yogurt into smoothies. I was also blown away by how clean the blender runs with no splatters or splatters due to the design of the blades and body. Acts as an anti-slip pad to prevent the container from sliding on the countertop when mixing. Containers and lids can also be used to store soup or other liquids in the refrigerator. For liquid creations (smoothies, milkshakes, soups) a blender is better for me, but it works well for chopping vegetables, onions. etc. with the chopper attachment. The whisk attachment is great for beating eggs and making whipped cream. Cleaning is a breeze and Breville has done it with safety in mind as the blades are protected by a sheath. The only possible downside is that the grip might feel a little big for someone with very small hands, but I find the soft grip and trigger switch to be ergonomically comfortable. Buy a Breville blender. The bottom of the cup is too small for a blender and can only be used with a whisk attachment, not a blender blade attachment. I would refuse a milkshake cup. A leading consumer magazine rates this blender higher than others that cost twice as much. I took this advice, as well as feedback from Revain customers, and found a great kitchen tool at a great price.
