A waste of my money on adhesives, sealants and lubricants

I bought a piece of tape to seal a gap in a pool liner. I went as far as running the water under the break so I could stick the tape to a dry surface. When I was done there was more glue on my hands than tape. The tape began to stick unevenly, leaving gaps around the edges. I put bigger chunks on top and added more water. Within a few days, most of the tape came off the backing. It was a waste of money.
