Review on πŸ”₯ Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder: Durable and Heat-Resistant for a Safe Kitchen by Brian Davis

Dangerous! Best Potholder

I have used cast iron my entire life and have 2 house parts, a frying pan and a frying pan. Both have a slight kink or bow on the handle. My guess is that Lodge did this to make it easier to hold than a regular flat grip. I've always used an oven mitt or towel, which worked well, but decided to give it a try. Big mistake! If you store your cast iron properly, by lightly oiling it after use, then you can imagine what happens when warm oil meets a loose silicone mount. DANGEROUSLY slippery. After frying the bacon, I tried removing the pan from the heat and the pan handle slipped right out of the silicone mount. Luckily I was over the sink when it happened, but if I hadn't it could have resulted in severe burns. I do NOT recommend!
