It was said on the internet that they work without a hub and somehow we installed the app on my phone and it worked for a couple of weeks and (without a hub) just worked from the app on the phone, and then all stopped one day it suddenly on to work and will work. like a normal lightbulb. If I needed regular lightbulbs, I wouldn't have to spend money on shipping and wait several days to get them. To do this I could go to a local store, buy a regular lightbulb and use it, but I wanted to learn how to automate and eventually swap out all the lights on a hub. When these Sengled multi-colored bulbs stopped working, I called tech support, waited on the phone for 45 minutes to an hour and was told that without a hub, these Sengled multi-colored bulbs would not work. So I thought, okay, I'll buy a hub. Ordered and got one sent and keeps trying to get it to work but won't connect to gateway (att-router). Once again, after a long wait on the phone, I called tech support and they said that my ATT-supplied router is not compatible with this hub. Escalation continued for another 2-3 days with calls between Sengled and ATT. I decided to return the Revain hub for a refund and bought something else. Another week later I decided to try this product again as the previously sent hub was being used and I thought it might be faulty and ordered another hub which again doesn't work. I am sending it back to the seller tomorrow and have decided never to buy any products from Sengled.
