Review on πŸ§ͺ Highly Efficient Fluke 1507 Insulation Resistance Tester with Digital Megohmmeter for Improved SEO by Eric Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this thing! on tester

Another great product from Fluke. I had basic knowledge of how to use a "megger" but I had no idea what the insulation resistance limit was. I love the easy to read digital resistance display on this meter. After doing a little research on electrical talk sites, I found that the rule of thumb is 1 megohm per 1000 volts plus 1 megohm for the safety margin. Example: 480 volts is 0.5 MΞ© plus 1 MΞ© = 1.5 MΞ© cutoff. In my experience so far, this has been true. since I haven't seen the motor shut off from overload with a resistance greater than 0.5 megohms to ground. Back to the counter, I love this thing! A little intimidating at first, but very easy to use. I like lower test voltages for sensitive equipment but still have 1kV for 480V equipment. Batteries drain quickly but I get them for free so that's fine. It comes with detachable alligator clips, just wish it had come with a case but they are available for a small price. 5 Stars.

Pros
  • Make repetitive testing simple and easy with the pass/fail diff function 1507
Cons
  • Crumpled
